To be
eligible to join Job Corps you must be between the ages of 16 and 24 and
meet certain income requirements. Trainees may choose to become residents
of the program or reside at home and attend training during the day. If
a trainee chooses the option of residential living, he or she will live
in a dormitory setting on center where meals, recreational activities,
and entertainment are provided. Because this is considered their
home during training, residents are expected to contribute their time towards
maintaining their rooms and center facilities. |

While participating in the Job Corps program,
all medical and dental needs are provided at no cost to trainees. An allotment
may also be provided that will help towards covering the cost of childcare
where applicable. In addition to these benefits, trainees receive living
and clothing allowances, as well as a readjustment allowance that is given
upon graduation from the program. Job Corps is a School-to-Career program
where trainees are given the opportunity to gain practical work and employability
skills. The placement department at the Inland Empire Center works closely
with all trainees to ensure that graduates transition easily from the training
environment to the workplace. To prevent confusion regarding eligibility,
Job Corps admissions counselors review all applications prior to enrollment.
Center tours are available for interested program candidates and their
families.
